Amanda Martino, LMFT
I believe that being a human being can be incredibly challenging, and those challenges present themselves in various ways across our life spans. I work from a lens of respect and curiosity about who my clients are, what values they hold, and what needs they have to increase their sense of well-being and resiliency. Hi there, my name is Amanda, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Lic. No. 132400 ).
Amanda Martino
I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Palo Alto University. I am trauma informed, LGBTQ+ allied and affirming, and actively working on my cultural competency. I have a background heavily steeped in working with children and adolescents that has served as a wonderful foundation in working with adults across the lifespan.
I have also had the great pleasure of working with couples and families. In my work as a therapist, I use an integrative approach, which is a fancy way of saying I do not subscribe to one specific theory or view on how therapy “should” look and be practiced. Instead, I believe in pulling from many theories and techniques as they lend themselves to the work my clients are doing. Sometimes that means we do a deep dive into the past to gain a better understanding of the roads they have traveled while creating space for healing–and sometimes it means we really work in the here-and-now to solve problems in their present, every-day lives. Often, it means a combination of the two.
I welcome you as you are and where you are. We all deserve a place to process, develop insight, heal, and gain the tools we need to meet our challenges. That is why it is my absolute honor and privilege to act as a support to fellow humans as they navigate the many chapters of their lives.
