Lois Miller, AMFT

I believe that a therapist’s curiosity and non-judgemental approach creates an open and welcoming environment that allows people and children to feel safe in sharing their deep emotions.

Helen Keller was quoted as saying “Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.”  Like Hellen Keller, I believe in the strength and resiliency of people and children; it is my hope to spur their awareness and to provide them with tools for enjoying a good life on their terms.

I invite children, teens, individuals, couples, and families to collaborate with me in developing their personal growth and gaining insight and tools to lessen their challenges or sufferings.  Hello, I’m Lois Miller, an Associate MFT (Reg. No. 125979).  Thank you for reading about me.

Lois Miller

I received my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University’s Holistic Studies Program and my post-graduate training from the Process Therapy Institute.  Currently, I’m working towards my licensure as a Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT).  My supervisor is Svetlana Kreimer, LMFT (Lic. No. 5325).  In addition to my counseling training, I have been on a Life Coach Team for over 10 years.

In sessions, I’ve witnessed how life’s challenges have shaped both people’s perceptions of themselves and their lives.  By using methods like Sand Tray, Drama, and the Empty Chair, these tools offer me the skills to guide clients toward their therapeutic goals; I find joy in knowing that my clients often adopt these tools into their personal lives.
